Abstract

Livestock sub-sector, which is part of the agriculture sector is a strategic sector in supporting the regional and national economy. Availability of both imported and local meat is closely related to national food security. Fulfillment of meat to meet as a producer of animal protein consumption is useful in terms of health and human intelligence. UNICEF recognizes that nutrition is based on theprotein supply has contributed about 50% of economic growth in developed countries. The purpose of this study is to assess the performance good fodder mixing machine for mixing feed cows, goats, and poultry. The test results indicate that the machine is able to mix until homogeneous within 5 minutes 10 seconds to feed cattle with a mass of 2.8 kg, 3 minutes 6 seconds to feed the goats with a mass of 4.1 kg, and 1 minute 49 seconds for poultry feed with a mass of 5kg.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of cooling medium in the quenching process on the level of the surface hardness of steel alloy ST 60 has a composition of 0.45% C, 0.33% Si; 0.43% Mn. While as the cooling medium varisi sequentially used oil SAE 20; SAE 40; and SAE 60. Quenching heating process is done by heating the steel in the furnace heated to a temperature of austenite 7500C, being the quenching process is performed by using the oil cooler media SAE10; SAE 40; and SAE 80. The surface hardness before and after quenching is known to test the micro Vickers on a load of 150 grams, while the microstructure observation was performed using an optical microscope magnification of 200 x.Results showed a linear relationship between the level of violence to the level of dilution oil cooler. Material surface hardness increased with the increasing rate of the cooling medium viscosity. Sequentially large surface hardness of the thinned oil SAE 10; SAE 40; and SAE 80 is obtained 175VHN0,015; 179 VHN0,15; dan 195VHN0,015. The microstructure of the experience was change of pearlite into cementite with a higher level of dilution cooling medium.

Abstract

Water is a basic necessary for life of all living beings in this world, especially humans. Water for human needs streamed from a high place to a lower place by utilizing a high pressure difference (head) or drained using a pump from a lower to a high place. The water flowed through pipes. But often we see the installation of pipes branching less regulated and do not pay attention to the effects that arise as a result of these subdivisions. In the market, there are branching pipe branched pipe usually only two or at most three, not yet branched pipe 4 and 5. Therefore, how it affects the flow of water with the same head?The results of this research the neighbor pipes branched 4 and 5 as an alternative pipeline branching in order to determine the flow of water in each pipe branched 4 and 5, knowing the losses that occur in the installation of pipelines and comparing the results of the study theoretically and the results in practice. The method in this results include preparation, tank, pipe installation, implementation discharge measurements, data analysis, reporting, and publication. To obtain data on discharge measurements using the volumetric method.The results of the branched pipe 4 obtained Q2 = 0.11 l/sec (36.66%), Q3 = 0.05 l/sec (16.67%), Q4 = 0.05 l/sec (16 , 67%), Q5 = 0.09 l/sec (30.00%). In the branched pipe 5 obtainedQ2 = 0.10 l/sec (32.26%), Q3 = 0.04 l/sec (12.90%), Q4 = 0.04 l/sec (12.90%), Q5 = 0.08 l/sec (25.81%), Q6 = 0.05 l/sec (16.13%). Losses that occur in the flow in the pipe inlet cover loss, loss curves, friction loss, loss of downsizing the pipe, and the pipe loss enlargement. Calculation of water discharge theoretical and practical results on the ground show the same value that is 0.3 liters/sec.

Abstract

Along with the development of technology, it is necessary to create the means or equipment if it can improve the effectiveness of the work, one of them in agriculture. There is now a peanut peeler machine, but the condition is considered not to work optimally. This is because the current engine speed is considered too slow, so it has not been able to peel the nut as a whole, only 50% of the peanut peeling entered in the stripper house. For that, the authors intend to develop technologies peanut peeler machine so that productivity can be increased.The method used in this research by analyzing the effect of the spin machine to the result and the stripping time. Variations in engine speed is used ranging from 52 rpm, 68 rpm and 84 rpm. Of the various rounds of the engine, will get round that is ideal for achieving peanut peeler machine work optimally in a short time.The results showed that the peanut peeler machine can work optimally with the result of 35.6 kg /hour at 84 rpm rotation speed of the engine, so that number can later be used as a reference for the agricultural industry to increase its production.

Abstract

DC motors have been widely used in all fields, such as industry, household appliances, to children's toys. The main reason of the heavy use of a DC motor is the ease of control. These controllers can use analog or digital control. In this study, the method used is a DC motor control simulation with Simulink and Matlab fuzzy toolbox. The results of the simulation show that the transient response of the DC motor control using fuzzy Mamdani and Sugeno, they did not show any overshoot, steady state computing to achieve faster Sugeno Fuzzy controller with 5.4 seconds, while for fuzzy Mamdani 38.12 seconds, middle (SE) the set of fuzzy output membership of approximately 1.3, error close to zero fastest achieved by Mamdani, Sugeno while slower, Delta Mamdani fuzzy error is more stable than fuzzy Sugeno, Value steady state control signal is almost the same at 1.2.

Abstract

The increase of amount used non linear loads could make a harmonic distortion at higher power. One of the non-linear load is the energy-saving lamps. Harmonic distortion has a negative effects that affect to operated an energy saving lamps. To reduce harmonics then used the passive filter as alternative to reduce harmonic.Filter is one of solution to way reduce harmonics. The results from installation of passive filters can produce THDi at single tuned filter amount of 53.62% for lamp 7 watt, 55.35% for lamp 11 watt and 55.46% for lamp 18 watt, and then the percentage could be tuned harmonic filter amounted is 4.66% for the lamp 7 watt, 5.16% for 11-watt bulbs, and 4.76% for a 18 watt lamp, for used of high pass filter orde 2 amounted is 47.39% for the lamp 7 watt, 51, 15% for a lamp 11 watt and 53.76% for lamp 18 watt, thus the percentage of harmonic tuned by the filter is 27.37% for the lamp 7 watt, 12.04% for 11-watt bulbs, and 7.68% for 18 watt lamp, for the used of Ctype filter amounted of 45.53% for the lamp 7 watt, 49.37% for 11 watt lamp and 56.73% for 18 watt lamp, thus the percentage of harmonic could tuned by the filter is 19,44% for the lamp 7 watt, 15.10% for 11-watt bulbs, and 2.58% for 18-watt bulbs.

Abstract

Tlogopucang village is a peanut-producing village, with production reached 2,5 tons per year. However, people still use manual way to peel peanuts, with a capacity of 7 kg/hr. The capacity is low, so they need application of technology in order to increase the production capacity of peanut peeling. The purpose of this study is to determine the production capacity by varying trellis peanut peeler.This study was to design the peanut peeling machine using a ¼ hp electric motor. The machine will use the gearbox as a power transmission unit, and using a trellis paring to put pressure on the peanuts, so the peanut seeds can be separated from the pods. Trellis peeler in this study varied with a distance of 1 cm; 1,25 cm and 1,5 cm.The results obtained an average production capacity of peanut peeling machine with trellis distance of 1 cm; 1,25 cm and 1,5 cm are 43,49 kg/hr; 42,56 kg/hr and 37,73 kg/hr.
